Best Wedding Day Foundations
When it comes to looking your best on your wedding day, foundation plays a big part. Whether you are getting married outside or inside, or whether you have dry, oily or combination skin, you need a foundation that is going to have some oil control but still give you the moisture and coverage you need.
Illamasqua: Rich Liquid Foundation ($39) Incredibly pigmented, just need a tiny
bit. Very blendable, medium to very high coverage. Dries fairly quickly so you should work in sections. Perfect for big problem areas like hyperpigmentation and
acne scarring, but you can sheer it down by mixing with moisturizer. Better for normal, combination, dry to very dry skin if it is used alone, make sure to set itwith powder if you have oily skin because it can separate after several hours. A lighter version is also available that's better for everyday wear.
MakeUp Atelier Paris: Waterproof Liquid Foundation (£22) If you can get a hold of this foundation, please do so. It's perfect for all skin types, fragrance free, provides medium to high coverage, and is waterproof so it's perfect for that day of yours where you're bound to shed a few tears during the ceremony and speeches. It provides a matte finish, but if you prefer a dewy one you can apply it
over their iridescent make up base.
Clinique: Even Better Liquid Foundation ($27) This is a perfect foundation if you don't like the feel of foundation. It has a light, breathable feel, provides light to medium coverage (that is buildable), has a satiny finish, is fragrance free and suitable for all skin types. It has minerals in it that evens out your skin tone and just makes you naturally luminous, but not in the shiny, you have pixie dust and highlighter all over you way.
Make Up For Ever: HD Invisible Cover Liquid Foundation ($42) This oilfree foundation provides medium to full coverage, is extremely blendable, and comes in 26 different shades, so you're bound to find one perfectly suited to your skin type. It also does what it says: leaves you with a flawless face on camera! It glides on smoothly and sets in the skin weightlessly, doesn't become cakey, and various skin types have said they don't need blotting papers for oily areas even hours later.
Dior: Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation ($62) Even though this is a spray foundation, don't assume it's difficult to use. In fact, this incredibly luxurious product is super user friendly, you can spray it directly on your face or on a brush (like the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush amazing and inexpensive!) and it provides medium to full yet breathable coverage. Your skin will have a satin, velvety finish and appear as if you're about to head down the runway in that
wedding gown of yours. There are pearly pigments built in that minimize the appear of your problem areas and provide you with a healthy glow. It also lasts very long, especially when set with a powder, and many have stated that it truly looks like your own skin.
Marc Jacobs: Genius Gel Super Charged Foundation ($48) This gel foundation is your goto if you love the natural look, but still have problem areas to cover (and who doesn't on her wedding day?) It's lightweight and provides light to medium coverage, and when set with a powder can last you much longer. It's incredibly easy to blend and isn't sticky or drying, so it's suitable for all skin types.It provides you with a very even looking skin tone and has ingredients that reflectlight to aid in minimizing imperfections.
Estee Lauder: Double Wear StayInPlace Foundation ($37) This worryfree foundation is known for its coverage and staying power. It won't come off throughout the day, regardless of what activities you have planned (like maybe, a wedding). It dries matte and can stay put throughout various weather conditions. It does dry on the skin fairly quickly though, so it's preferred that you put it on sections at a time, but it does blend very smoothly, is buildable, and can cover multiple problem areas.
